The Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Bangalore, a NAAC ‘A’ accredited institution, celebrated its 21st Foundation Day and Alumni Meet 2025 on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at its campus located in Electronic City Phase-1, Bengaluru. The event marked over two decades of the institute’s contribution to healthcare management education, research, and capacity building in India. Over the years, the institute has emerged as a premier centre for health and hospital management education, multidisciplinary research, training, and consulting services in the healthcare sector.
IIHMR Bangalore currently offers AICTE approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and doctoral-level Fellowship Programme in Management (FPM) with specializations in Hospital Management, Public Health, Healthcare Information Technology, Pharmaceutical Management, and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science in Healthcare. Its flagship PGDM in Hospital and Health Management holds NBA accreditation and MBA equivalency from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), underscoring the institute’s academic rigor and national standing.
The celebration was graced by eminent dignitaries including Dr. C. S. Kedar, IAS (Retd.), Former Director General (ESIC) and Senior Advisor, IIHMR Bangalore; Dr. Nisha Varadaraj, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospitals (MHEPL), Bengaluru; Mr. Praveen Srivatsa, Founder-Director, Thinkar Foundation; Dr. Usha Manjunath, Director, IIHMR Bangalore; and Dr. R. Sarala, Professor and Dean – Academics & Student Affairs.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries congratulated the institute and its alumni for their remarkable achievements and appreciated IIHMR Bangalore’s sustained efforts in strengthening healthcare management education, research, and leadership development. With a global alumni network of over 1,000 professionals, IIHMR Bangalore alumni occupy leadership roles across hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, digital health organizations, public health agencies, consulting firms, and healthcare technology companies. Several distinguished alumni were felicitated during the event for their professional accomplishments.
A major highlight of the event was the announcement of a new two-year, full-time PGDM programme in Pharmaceutical Management, scheduled to commence from 2026. The decision follows the institute’s successful experience in pharmaceutical management socialization for over five years and growing industry demand. With this initiative, IIHMR Bangalore aims to position itself as a regional leader in Pharmaceutical Management education in South India.
The Foundation Day celebrations also featured vibrant cultural performances by students representing various clubs, including the Management Club, Literary Club, Entrepreneurship Club, and Community Club. The performances included live painting, artistic yoga, silambam, skits, dance presentations, and a ramp walk, showcasing the creative talents of the student community. During the event, faculty and staff members were recognized and awarded under different categories for their exceptional work ethics, dedication, and professional attributes, based on peer nominations and voting. Students who excelled during the sports week were felicitated as well.
